6. Excel How to freeze multiple rows ?

To freeze multiple rows, simply select a cell just below the rows. Then on the View tab of the Ribbon, use the Freeze Panes command in the Window group and choose Freeze Panes.

Let's say we have a sheet with a table with a large number of rows and we want to keep the row with the column headers always visible when we scroll down the page.

Excel 2016 Example Freeze Panes

The column headers for this example are in row 3. We will therefore freeze rows 1 to 3 as follows :

  • Select the cell A4.
  • On the View tab of the ribbon, use the Freeze Panes command in the Window group and choose Freeze Panes
